Of course I doubted in my

grandfather's Evangelical faith-healing

powers, with hands raised over the

hopeless, the afflicted, banishing all

anxiety, and fear, and loss,

and sadness, expunging the soul to

be free once again. And then there are

moments where I want to have his 'powers'

and efface the blots of affliction

of my intimates. Lo, how I wish they had

his followers' faith. Lo, how I wish I could

take my hand and wipe the anguish away.
